Since 1928.
Ninety-eight years in one trade
Wayne Burial Vault Co. began work on September 1, 1928, and incorporated on September 20, 1952. The company has stayed in one trade the whole time: burial vaults.
The Better Business Bureau accredited the company on May 19, 1956, an accreditation now in its eighth decade. The rating today is A+.
The plant stands at 602 South Emerson Avenue, beside Christian Park on the east side of Indianapolis. David Priest serves as secretary and treasurer.
The delivery fleet is on the federal record: six trucks, seven drivers, and one listed cargo, burial vaults.
Dates from the company's BBB profile; fleet from the FMCSA record. Both checked September 5, 2026.
A quiet trade.
A vault is bought once, seen briefly, and then does its work out of sight for a very long time. The trade suits people who take that seriously.
Ninety-eight years on, the work is the same: concrete, cast and cured, delivered on our own trucks.
The plant still answers the phone.
